Thanks to all workplaces who participated in this year's Clean Air Commute. Together we saved an amazing 539.37 tones of pollutants from going into the atmosphere. Check back here again next June for the 2011 Clean Air Commute.
What Are We All About?
It’s time to take action about our air quality! The Clean Air Commute is a workplace event encouraging employees to walk, cycle, take public transit, carpool, telecommute or drive a hybrid to work – instead of driving alone.
The positive effect a single person can have on air quality is huge! But the best part is that you can make a difference without having to make huge sacrifices.
Where Are We
Today?
Since 1993, the Clean Air Commute has:
• Registered over 700 GTA workplaces and received over 100,000 participant ‘diary cards’.
• Saved over 4,300 tonnes of pollutants from being released into the air (NOx, SOx, VOCs, CO, CO2) (since 2000 when reporting of pollutants was introduced to the event).
• Succeeded in switching thousands to public transit, carpooling, biking, walking and telecommuting.
